Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. After moving to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma enrolled at the Dragon School. From the age of six Emma realized she would like to be an actress and for several years, she studied at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught performing and singing. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays before she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having eight consecutive auditions. Emma's debut film coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film was also the film that was most popular in 2001. The opening weekday and weekend the sales were record breaking. The film has been praised by critics for its film and the performance by three young actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed, called her performance commendable. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for the Feature Film. The actress was recognized five times in recognition of her role in the movie.
