Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. As a child, she was exposed to many traditional music as well as older boleros. Also, she listened to traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana has a passion for the opera and tango genres as well as all forms of dramatic performance. Her mother teaches her how to sing, but she started intensive vocal training by Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera tenor. The training in music continued at the School of Music of Guadalajara University. In the following years, she was a student at the School of Sacred Music of Toluca. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was an active member of numerous opera choruses and chamber ensembles. After moving into the United States, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then in 2002 she moved to Southern California. She sings as a soloist Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. She is involved with many local organizations and is a teacher and performer, because of her love for art and music. Ana was also a member of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is now a teacher at The Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able bring to others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes to encourage younger generations to continue the tradition.
